Why do we support MISSION TRIPS?

We need you to open your eyes to a world waiting to be discovered—individuals and entire communities who seem almost forgotten need your help today. We here at SOSCC.ca believe that all Christians want to do what God has planned for their life, the problem is that we don’t always know how to fulfill our destiny. We don’t know if we are called to build homes for the poor, love on orphans, feed the hungry, clothe and educate school children and the list goes on and on.

In life when we want to accomplish a goal such as: a professional career, an athlete, starting a business we need to learn everything we can about that subject and it can take many years of hard work to reach the top of your game.

Working in the mission field is no different! You need to do some soul searching and researching and also spend some time talking to other Christians who have been doing mission work for many years.

It’s a given that the world needs thousands of Christians to go to the mission field, but if you feel in your heart that this is not your calling, then give in other ways such as – your time, expertise and of course money, because money in the right hands can change the world.

“Be a part of the solution”

Mission trips will be organized around five to ten day short-term mission outreaches. Each mission trip team will be involved in a vital construction project as well as doing outreach. Team members will communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ to all who will listen. Records show that thousands have decided to follow Christ each year through Mission outreaches such as Children’s Bible School, Christian medical missions, and door to door evangelism, “will you be one of them in the near future.”

There are plenty of mission’s opportunities to choose from.

EXPLORERS – A missionary will discover what God is doing in the world and will be given an opportunity to get involved. Of course we will come by invitation, not invasion. We will come not only to teach but to learn.

TO BE A SERVANT – Our individuals and teams come not to be served but to serve in the same way the Lord Jesus Christ came as a servant and a friend.

TELL YOUR STORY – We all have a unique story to tell about our journey, to God and with God.  We believe your story is important, and will give hope to others.

It is our goal at SOSCC.ca to provide an atmosphere where missionaries are able to focus on serving the poor of the world. We will do this by taking care of the details, such as lodging, food, worship, building materials, etc. In this way, we believe that we provide an environment for growth and servanthood that is like no other whether you opt in as a short term missionary or long term missionary.

We believe the Bible is the only authoritative Word of God.

We serve and believe that there is one God, and that He exists in the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe Christ’s virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His present rule as Head of the Church and His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that it is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful men to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences.

Part of our investment in short-term missions is the creation of our new “Volunteer Mobilization Centers” across Canada. These 16 to 20,000- squares-foot facilities in major cities in all provinces will be used to mobilize thousands of volunteers heading out on mission vacations.” These facilities will be “Designed and built primarily by volunteers, the Center will service a growing tide of Canadians seeking to use their free time more productively.
Through its travel program “Finding Jesus,” SOSCC intends to bring its members closer together and make them much more vibrant.

A few more reasons why SOSCC created a travel program are,

  1. A travel ministry deepens our faith in God.
  2. It enriches personal relations with Jesus.
  3. It builds fellowship and enlivens a community.
  4. It enables its members to experience the Christian faith and sites firsthand.

Our missions program will only succeed if we all participate by volunteering and supporting through your time, resources and of course donating money, because money in the right hands can change the world.

Our Lord said, “What you give and do for others, you do and give for Me”
